The area we are discussing can be divided into two parts: the area in the oxbow of the Trinity River on either side of North Main Street and the area at the junction of two forks of the Trinity River on either side of White Settlement Road. Both areas are also bounded by the Fort Worth And Western Railroad line that cuts diagonally across this part of the City. This area is located below the bluff where Fort Worth was founded, and on the north side of the river where industrial, commercial, and related businesses were permitted to go in a part of the City that was subject to flooding, and then later protected by levees. |
